EA has issued a tweet from its official Battlefield account announcing that subscription requirements will differ between PS4 players and Xbox One players interested in joining the fray (via Eurogamer).
"You will need an Xbox Live Gold account to play Multiplayer during the Battlefield 1 Open Beta," EA said in one tweet. A few hours later, the company made another confirmation. "You do not need a PS Plus account to play the Battlefield 1 Open Beta on PlayStation 4."
No reason for the disparity was given, leading one to speculate that requirements for participating in betas and other special events likely fall to Microsoft and Sony rather than EA.
EA has yet to release PC specs for that set of players eager to try out this week's open beta.
