Looking to get yourself a tablet? iPads are the most popular ones in the market with 25.9% of all tablet shipments in Q1 2016, so we know chances are you want something coming from the Cupertino giant. We are also well aware Apple has some of the most expensive devices in the market.
You could go with Apple’s official stores and pay full price, or you could check out some of these deals we have found online. There are plenty of good offers out there, so let’s take a look at our favorites and keep some of that hard-earned cash in your wallet.
Note: For the sake of relevance, we will only display deals for the newer and currently sold tablets. Devices like the original iPad and iPad Mini may not be included, for example. We will also continue to update this post on a regular basis, so it might be smart to keep checking back!
iPad Pro 12.9
With the base price at $799, this is easily the most expensive tablet Apple has around. Get the 256 GB version with cellular data capabilities and you are looking at a massive $1,229 device! Is it worth it? You can find out in our review (linked at the bottom of the page). It is a very powerful tablet with an extensive portfolio of apps and plenty of creative capabilities, thanks to the optional Apple Pencil. But we are not here to talk about that. Let’s look at the deals.
If you want something smaller and prefer not paying massive amounts of cash for your tech, yet need a powerful tablet, your best bet might be the iPad Pro 9.7. It should be able to handle all your tasks and games, aside from touting Apple Pencil support. This bad boy starts at $599 from Apple, but today you can get it for cheaper here.
The iPad Air 2 could be seen as the direct predecessor to the iPad Pro 9.7. The older gadget does have plenty of power and capabilities, even if the iPad Pro 9.7 does beat it in performance, has a better display, implements an improved camera and more. Then there is also the Apple Pencil, which you can’t take advantage of with the iPad Air 2.
But if you don’t need all the extra bells and whistles, the iPad Air 2 is great, especially considering you can save yourself $100 or more by buying it over the Pro.
For some of us portability is key, and the best smaller tablet from Apple is the iPad Mini 4. It’s super light and thin at only 6.1 mm thick and 0.65 pounds light. It’s also plenty powerful thanks to the A8 chipset. And though the screen is smaller, it still sports a Retina 2048 x 1536 resolution. Oh, and they are usually much cheaper than the larger iPads! This one currently goes for as low as $399 from Apple.
Those who really want to save money can go with the iPad Mini 2. This has become the go-to cheap iPad and has survived multiple generations after being launched in 2013. It won’t be the fastest iPad, but can get the job done and still has a Retina display! Great deal, especially considering you can get it new from Apple for only $269.
