We've seen the supposed leaked pictures and read the rumors about this almost bezel-less new smartphone from ZTE. But the time for speculation is over as the Nubia Z9 was finally unveiled and its full specifications announced in China. Something that wasn't mentioned in the previous leaks is that there will be 3 versions of the new flagship and it looks like they will all be in the high-end smartphone category.
All 3 versions share almost the same specifications, at least in some aspects. For example, they are all made of a glass and alloy body and the 5.2-inch 1080p display has a 2.5D glass display. On the inside, they are running on a Snapdragon 810 processor and has a 2900mAh battery, with Bluetooth 4.1, MHL 3.0, and NFC in terms of connectivity options. In terms of the all-important camera specs, the main one is a 16MP unit with F2.0 aperture and OIS, while the front-facing cam has 8MP, which is pretty great for a "selfie" camera. When it comes to audio capabilities, they have NeoSound 4.0 and a AKM4961 Hi-Fi processor plus Dolby 7.1 surround.
But probably what will make the Nubia Z9 fly with the public is the fact that it is almost looks bezel-less, probably because it is very thin at 0.8mm. It also reflects the content on-screen, adding to the bezel-less appearance. It also has a FIT interactive frame, which means it is very much touch sensitive and can actually react to gesture controls, allowing you to have an easier time to take screenshots, adjust the brightness of the device, and activating the camera as well. Some of the models will also use TIO fingerprint technology for security purposes.
The main differences between the three models of the Nubia Z9 is in their storage, and price range of course. The Classic version has 3GB RAM and 32GB memory and will cost around $560, while Elite Edition, with its 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory will cost around $645. The Exclusive edition is the most expensive of course and has 4GB RAM and 64GB, plus the aforementioned TIO and will cost around $725.
