RIM’s tale of woes has taken on a new turn. So if flagging sales of its PlayBook tablet device hasn’t been enough, an entire rig containing $1.7 million worth of the PlayBook tablet has gone missing. While exact details are yet a bit sketchy, the 22 pallets containing the tablets were believed to be headed towards Ontario. Investigators are already on the job to track down the miscreants involved in it though they believe it might be tough to book the criminals and recover the lost units.
In any case, its an interesting new development in the entire PlayBook saga though surely not the most pleasant one for RIM. It has had to lower the price of the 7 inch tablets to ensure it remains in contention among its better known competitors like the Kindle Fire or the Nook Tablet while the theft of a huge number of the tablet has compounded their problems even more.
