It’s long been the dream of the Life of Android team to be able to blow up various structures while leaving a cuddly panda miraculously unscathed. Until recently, that’s been a mere pipe dream… And then Blow Up arrived. Now we can use a variety of explosives to raze buildings to the ground, all the time keeping our cuddly friend safe from harm. You can’t imagine how happy this makes us…
The idea behind Blow Up is to destroy as many of the impossibly varied structures as possible using a variety of different explosives. You must ensure that every part of the structure falls below a preset line and that the panda that nestles atop said structure falls to the ground unscathed. Blowing up the panda (or conversely not blowing it up) is easy, since only attaching an explosive directly to him will tear him limb from limb.
You have a limited number of explosives to place and you must strategically place them to cause the most damage possible. If any part of the building remains above the preset line, you’ve failed.
With a number of different explosives to offer, it’s sometimes a good idea to set a timer to delay the big bang while other explosives do their worst. Sure setting them all off at the same time is fun, but occasionally you’ll need to play the waiting game to get the job done with the incendiaries you have to hand.
Naturally each level is more complex than the last and it becomes more and more crucial that you place your explosives in the correct place as you progress. In the early stages you can rig up a few bits of C4, hit the detonate button and nine times out of ten you’ll cause the necessary chaos.
Blow Up’s not overly complex but that doesn’t stop it being huge fun. We approve.
The Bottom Line
Bizarre but enjoyable. Will keep you coming back for more with a hefty 90 levels to complete
