Starting today, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile, both of which are pre-paid carriers, are offering LG’s latest budget device to their subscribers. The device, known as the LG Tribute HD, is a low-end Android powered device. Specs wise, LG has equipped the device with a large 5-inch TFT display, which features a 720 x 1280p (HD) resolution, which equates to a pixel density of 293 ppi (pixels-per-inch). Moving on to the inside of the device, LG has equipped the smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.3GHz.
Also inside is the Adreno 304 GPU and a respectable 1.5GB of RAM, along with a further 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via a microSD slot. Regarding the camera setup, LG has equipped this device with an 8-megapixel module on the rear, while a 5-megapixel selfie sensor is mounted on the front. On one last note, the device comes with 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Android 6.0 Marshmallow straight out of the box along with LG’s custom overlay on top. Also included is a removable 2100mAh battery which, while not exactly large, should be enough to get the Tribute HD through the day. Looking at the design, it’s fair to say LG hasn’t taken any risks with this device. It features a fairly minimalistic front panel, which houses the large display, though fairly thick bezels are included. Sitting on the bottom bezel is LG’s logo, while at the top is the camera and proximity sensor.
Looking at the removable rear panel, LG has kept the design simple once again, with the camera and flash sitting in the top left corner, the LG logo in the center and a small rear speaker sits towards the bottom corner. Regarding price and availability, the LG Tribute HD is available immediately from Boost for $79.99 with free shipping included for purchases made online. Regarding Virgin availability, the device is also available now, but it will cost an extra $20, meaning customers will have to shell out $99.99 for the device, though just like Boost, free shipping is included. The LG Tribute HD is certainly a respectable offering for those who are yet to buy their first smartphone but are willing to without breaking the bank.
