Okay, you don’t actually get to bring Matt Damon to your actual home, but home to earth. And we actually don’t mean Matt Damon, but rather the character he plays in the critically-acclaimed movie The Martian (based on the book with the same name). In this Android game movie tie-in, you are the sole contact of astronaut Mark Watney after he gets left on Mars. The object of the game is, you guessed it, to bring him back to Earth safely and intact.
While we seem to be spending a lot of time trying to find Matt Damon (there’s a meme about that), your purpose in playing the game is to find him, use your wit and knowledge to help him make decisions, and then of course have him home in time for dinner. You are in fact, a NASA communications specialist that is tasked to communicate with our lost astronaut, and guide him through the process of getting back to earth. Each decision you help him make, backed up by logic and a little bit of research, can mean life or death out there in the red planet.
You can also get the advise from a team of experts, who you will eventually unlock as the story progresses. Each decision Mark, or rather you, makes shapes how the game is going to go. And if you want a different outcome from what you ended up with, you can go and do it all over again.
You can download The Martian: Bring Him Home for $2.99 from the Google Play Store. The good news is that for that price, you won’t have to deal with ads or in-app purchases.
