Nobody would ever consider an airport to be an oasis of calm and relaxation – you arrive flustered, you battle the crowds, you get treated with suspicion, you parade your toiletries in a see-through plastic bag, and you possibly get touched up by security at the metal detector. And if you’re flying with Cryinair it’ll only get worse, with formerly basic human rights such as eating and going to the lavatory re-assigned as ‘frills’. Modern air travel is hardly glamorous.
But taking the edge off the misery and harking back to a Golden Age, if you’re flying with the World’s Favourite Airline this app is an essential.
Whether just a casual BA user or a member of their crack Executive Club, with a few clicks you can book flights, bring up your booking, check in and pick your seat, view arrival and departure info by Route, Flight and Airport, get the latest travel news and even follow the Twitter feed on offers and links to articles in the BA Highlife magazine.
Best of all, however, once you’ve checked in via the app, you can download a virtual boarding card onto your phone, allowing you to waltz through the Fast Bag Drop and straight to security, bypassing the queues, questions and accusations of check-in and check-in staff. Golden, indeed.
Seriously, if you’re planning on flying BA, you need this app. User feedback points towards a few bugs, but as a frequent flier myself (BA Exec Club, no less), when it comes to taking the pain out of taking the plane I’d recommend this app every time. Let’s fly!
