Remember the movie “The Bucket List” starring Jack Nicholson and Morgran Freeman? It came out in 2007 and it was a movie about two men from completely different circumstances who both became roommates in a hospital cancer ward during their treatments. Both men were facing death and over time formed a friendship with one another. During the movie Morgan Freeman’s character starts writing a bucket list. A list of things to do before he “Kicks The Bucket”. At first he decides it was a stupid idea because he was told he had a year to live. Jack Nicholson’s character advises him that it’s not stupid and that they should try to do all the things on his list in the time they had left. I don’t want to spoil the ending but it was a great movie you should see it.
That very long intro leads me nicely into this new app I’m reviewing called “Buckitdream”. It’s a bucket list management app for the iPhone. When I was asked to review this app I wasn’t sure what I was going to get. After using it for a few days I can honestly say that it’s definitely an app anyone who likes to set goals should have. It’s nicely laid out, it’s easy to use, and it does what it says it does…it manages your bucket list.
What’s good about it
Users can add items to their bucket list complete with Title, Description, social tags, rate their dreams importance, dream location, friends who will join them, budget, date to get it done by, privacy, and additional notes. You can also give your dream a dream cover photo which I think is extremely important if you intend to share you dream on social media. Posts with photos tend to be more visible and more shareable.
Users can share their dreams on instant message, email, Twitter, Facebook, and a bunch of other social media sites.
Dreams can be marked as complete like a check list when they are completed.
Users can also keep dreams private because not everybody needs to know your business!
Another cool feature is the ability to browse through everyone else’s public dreams. It’s a great way to learn new things you might want to add to your list.
Notifications that send reminders to users based on close date proximity. If you planned a bucket item on June of 2015 that was to be done in 5 years then maybe there should be some kind of notification to tell the user hey it’s getting close to your date when it’s 6 months, 3 mos, 1 month, 1 day, etc….before your goals due date.
The ability to add video to completed bucket list items. Might be cool way for others to get inspired to add the same bucket list items to their list.
Overall I think the Buckitdream iPhone app is really a nice bucket list management app and I look forward to future updates. I highly recommend this app for anyone looking to build a bucket list and live their dreams!
Overall Rating: ★★★★
Now if you excuse me I have a few goals I need to add to my list at this time. One of them may involve building an adult sized big wheel and … ahem….oh wait that ones private. Nevermind forget I even said anything!
