If you’re in India and have been hankering for a OnePlus One, tomorrow’s your chance to get your very own, no invite necessary.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is making its flagship device available without an invite on Amazon India on February 10 at 10am for 24 hours at the usual $350 price (Rs. 21,999).
OnePlus’ invite-free sale is likely a move to undercut rival Xiaomi’s Mi 4 opening figures in the country, which will also be available in India tomorrow on Flipkart.
Although the device currently ships with CyanogenMod OS 11, the One will next receive an update to OnePlus’ own Android Lollipop-based fork, dubbed OxygenOS. The company began working on its own build following a rift with Cyanogen Inc. over exclusive licensing of its software in India.
A release date for OxygenOS hasn’t yet been announced, but more details are expected on February 12.
