Activision’s long awaited Call Of Duty Elite app will launch on the Android Market next week, following today’s release of its iOS version.
The free companion to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 allows users to track their player information, statistics and challenge progress through their smartphone handset.
Additionally, players can pore over detailed accounts of their last ten games and customise their loadouts pages. We imagine this is a godsend to anyone whose life feels empty without the ability to check their headshot count on the move?
The Call Of Duty Elite app was intentionally delayed last November to ease the strain on Activision servers but one feature still missing from the free download is clan operation, the multiplayer grouping system.
“Part of the reason they’re not up yet is because we learned a tremendous amount at launch about testing and scaling and making sure that things are at the level that the community really, really wants it to be at before releasing them into the wild,” explained Beachhead’s Chock Sonny before stating the clan operation feature will be implemented in a future update.
Once the Call Of Duty Elite app has arrived on Android and the clan operation update has been included, Beachhead also will be looking to optimise the app for tablets.
