I surely made my family happy with this cooking app, even though it was short-lived. I’m usually one to read the reviews on apps, but I decided to take a chance with this one. It started beautifully, with a homepage that suggests a meal of the day. From this page, you can decide to take a UPC scan, and here is the first very big downfall. You have to have your products from Campbell’s, Swanson, Pace, Prego, Pepperidge Farm, or V8. So for someone who usually doesn’t buy these products, this limited my selection.
I tried the search button on the home screen for kielbasa, and to my surprise there were no results available. Along the bottom of the page there are choices of recipes, quick ideas, arecipe box, and a shopping list. I tried the quick ideas, but the only way to get a result is to let the app decide. It only seems to land on certain ones, to promote their best products, which I expected, but not to this extreme.
I tried a nice recipe that was so good, my kids even enjoyed it. While cooking, I noticed when switching views the app would force close when I had the recipe open. Things seem to just keep popping up that aren’t working out with this one. You can share from the recipe app, if you can get it to work properly. A fellow AndroidGal tried to get this one to work and she couldn’t even get it to open up, it kept force closing on her.
Perhaps you’ll have better luck than I did. You can download Campbell’s Kitchen on your Android device by using the box below. Be sure to leave us a comment with your thoughts on the app! Did it force close on you?
