One of the biggest computer giant, Dell, which recently launched its part of the tablet share, has been noticed on quietly pulling the Dell Streak device from stores nationwide including from the company’s web store. This is not due to any faulty part or a discontinuation but the reason as Dell explains on the deployment of an update which has to be pushed on all Dell Streak units.
Engadget has been the first one to report on the disappearance after contacting the company’s customer service in order to purchase a device. Moreover, the company official told on Dell Streak’s availability some time in early August.
On the other hand, while we do register the update related clause, what we fail to understand is the manufacturer to pull its entire stock from the market, just to make a software update. Whereas the company denies on any faulty part, we predict that there is a genuine problem with the device which needs to be physically fixed.
The Dell Streak is one of the unique device found in the market which has the features of a tablet as well as a feature phone. Originally launched with Android 1.6 (which many of you, don’t even remember), it now comes powered with the Froyo. Sporting a 5-inch touch screen with multi-touch support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution and single core Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor clocked at 1GHz and complemented by an Adreno 200 GPU.
