Everything’s a power-struggle these days, whether it’s toppling dictatorships in Arabistan or panic buying petrol because someone uttered the word ‘strike’ somewhere, power is at the root of everything; even in the world of old fashioned TV-aping robots…
There’s just something so right about Android apps about robots. Take Cordy for example, a pleasing platform player that sees you adopt the form of an automaton charged with powering up his planet by bouncing around and solving puzzles to get the energy flowing freely.
The puzzles themselves are a lot less than complicated, and the main aspect of the game is really just getting Cordy around the course as quickly as possible through the medium of your precision, pin-sharp reactions on the controls, but if you do need a little assistance, each level is laid out with handy hints along the way.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Easy to operate, Cordy’s controls are intuitive and highly responsive, whilst graphics and gameplay are of lovely crisp console quality. Okay, it may be yet another platform game in an app-ocean of its ilk, but it’s a textbook example of a platform game done exceptionally well, which is probably why it has made No.1 app in countless countries across the world.
