The Crew is one of the most anticipated games of the year and is due to land on Xbox One and PS4 on December 1 –– that’s tomorrow if you’re reading this right now. But after the nuts-up that was Assassin’s Creed: Unity, a lot of players are understandably iffy about the release of the game.
The Metropolist reached out to Ubisoft’s lead designer in order to get an update on The Crew’s release and whether or not we should be bracing ourselves for another Assassin’s Creed: Unity-style fubar. Thankfully Ubisoft isn’t keen on making the same mistake twice and is confident the release of The Crew will go swimmingly.
"For The Crew, we've reaped the benefits of a long term beta program, designed specifically to push our infrastructure as far as possible in real world situations, with thousands of players from all over the world playing the game at the same time," said Serkan Hasan, The Crew’s lead designer.
"The launch of any online game these days has potential issues, but I hope that players will be encouraged by our open approach. If you had any doubts that we could pull this off, I hope that the betas proved our credentials and the game's stability."
The Crew of course has been part of an extensive beta testing programme, and Hasan says this places the title in a good position –– most major niggles and/or bugs have should have now been isolated and eliminated. On the subject of performance, Hasan indicates that punters can expect “1080p & 30fps on Xbox One & PS4 at launch.”
The Crew will get its official launch on December 2. In the meantime, check out our round up of all the Xbox One and PS4 Games.
