Anyone interested in actually purchasing the pricey Apple Watch Edition, which starts at $10,000, will receive a little more time to try on the wearable device. Thats according to a new report from the International Business Times.
Starting on Friday. April 10, interested buyers can book appointments at their local Apple Store. Walk-in customers looking to try on a watch will be accommodated, though.
Instead of a 15-minute appointment for customers interested in the Apple Watch Sport or Apple Watch, possible Edition buyers will receive 30 minutes to take a look at the device which is highlighted by an 18-karat gold case.
And thankfully, you wont have to fill out a credit report or flash an American Express Black Card to see the expensivewatch. Heres more from the sites sources two employees at separate Apple Store locations in New York.
But Apple will give the extra time even to those who feign interest. To express interest in the Edition, customers favorite their favorite models through the Apple Store website or the app, and that preference is saved to the customers Apple ID. When a reservation is made to try on the Watch, stores will know exactly which ones the customer is interested and show them corresponding models during the demo, according to the employees.
The Apple Watch will be available to preorder starting on April 10 as well. It will hit the market on Friday, April 24.
Even though the Apple Watch Edition will only be available at select Apple Stores, Im definitely interested in making an appointment to try one on. I suspect it will be the closest Ill ever get to a $10,000 piece of jewelry.
But it shouldnt come as a big surprise that Apple wants to give anyone truly interested in the Edition more time to look at the device and interact with specially trained employees.
Prices range from $349 for the Sport model to $17,000 for the most expensive Apple Watch Edition.
A mid-range Apple Watch collection, with a sapphire display cover and stainless steel exterior, ranges from $549 to $1,099. Apple will also offer a number of other additional bands for the watch.
Youll need an iPhone 5 or later to interact with the device.
