DC Comics, home to some of the biggest names in superhero-land, has created an Android app in conjunction with comiXology that lets users read its vast catalogue of over 80 monthly comic titles and over 100 comic annuals on their Android device.
The app, launched just in time for Comic-Con and available now on Android Market is essentially a comic app store that offers titles for as little as $0.99, with over 3,000 issues from the DC Comics and Vertigo brands.
Hank Kanalz, senior vice president of digital for DC Entertainment, had this to say, “This launch is another great milestone in our digital strategy. Our goal is to make DC Comics available to the broadest audience possible and this Android launch extends our reach among mobile phones and tablets. We want our readers to enjoy comics whenever and wherever they want, be it at home, work or while walking around San Diego Comic-Con.”
