Not only is Dead Space now backwards compatible on the Xbox One, it’s also free in two ways: to subscribers of the EA Access program and through Games with Gold.
First, if you subscribe to Xbox LIVE Gold, you can get the game for free until April 15. That’s one way.
Dead Space has also joined The Vault, a collection of aging games that a playable for free as part of the $4.99 per month EA Access subscription. This is only for the Xbox One, so keep that in mind.
I’ve yet to join EA Access, but it offers some fairly nifty benefits. Aside from the constantly growing Vault, EA Access gives folks a discount on EA titles bought on the Xbox One and the ability to play some games ahead of their release dates.
If you’re a nut for sports games, want to play them early and want to enjoy the perk of trying aging games for free for the first time well after they release, EA Access might be something to consider.
