Most interestingly, the site is claiming that the new tablet will feature 2GB of RAM running alongside Apples A8 chip. Thats double the amount of RAM found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and should help apps load even faster.
Design wise, the new tablet should be around 0.5mm thinner than the first-generation iPad Air. Along with some other minor exterior changes, the report is also claming that Apple is doing away with the hardware mute/vibration switch.
Just like the iPhone 6, Apple will apparently modify the tablet’s storage lineup by offering only32GB, 64GB, and 128GB versions. Apple will also supposedly debut a gold version of the tablet, something that has been previously rumored.
Finally, thesite also says that thanks to a new Touch ID button, “iPad Air 2″ users will also be able to take advantage of Apple Pay with their tablets.
While these so-called specs are definitely detailed, they should be taken with a grain of salt. The same site incorrectly claimed before the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus event that the handsets would be waterproof and dust proof and protected by a sapphire glass screen.
At the event on Thursday, Oct. 16, Apple will also reportedly unveil the third-generation iPad mini, an iMac with a Retina display, and discuss rollout plans forOS X Yosemite.
