Apple’s new iOS 7.1 software introduced several much-needed fixes and even some awesome new features that you really have to check out. For some users, however, iOS 7.1 also introduced a horrible new problem: shorter battery life. Reports have been mixed, with many users suggesting that iOS 7.1 actually improved battery performance and others complaining that battery life has been reduced dramatically. If you find yourself in the second camp, don’t fret because there are several things you can do to help the situation.
First and foremost, the site noted that many users experienced shorter battery life at first after updating to iOS 7, but battery life improved over the course of a few days so it could be too early to panic.
If you’ve already moved past all of the neat new stuff Apple packed into iOS 7.1 and you’re still seeing shorter battery life, iMore’s second tip is to check for software problems, disable features you’re not using, perform a complete software restore if need be, and even to use airplane mode on occasion as a last resort.
