Social media apps can sometimes be scary. There’s an anonymity factor in not knowing who exactly could be on the other end of the computer, and if they are really trustworthy. Not only that, if you are shopping on the Internet on Amazon, there might be product recommendations for an item, but the reliability of those recommendations could turn out to be very unreliable. The Tril Corporation has created a solution to this problem. With the Tril app, which is available now on iOS, users can interact with each other only among their trusted friends, family members and contacts. Tril provides a way to get recommendations and discover new things: from books, to movies, to music, to TV shows; and all those recommendations come from trusted friends.
With the Tril app, users will get access to recommendations that actually come from trusted friends and contacts. That means the recommendation is not based on a social graph or a digital algorithm. It’s actually user generated by someone with actual shared, similar interests. So, it’s not a computer trying to predict the user’s tastes, but someone the user actually knows. Tril allows users to build a database of friends and contacts, people the users trust. After selecting to trust a user over a certain topic, they will find recommendations for a variety of topics, including a book they should read, a new restaurant they might want to visit, or other various product recommendations. If there is a topic someone wants to revisit, that topic can be saved and then explored again later on through Tril. Whoever is using Tril can then post their own recommendations and thoughts to their friends and trusted contacts. In other words, users are now truly sharing their experiences, through a social app, with contacts and people they can trust. If you are looking for a recommendation on what to do next, they will come from a genuine place for the user. The Tril app offers a great form of discovery for new things or what to try next after trusting a specific contact for a certain subject.
Tril is available now as a free-to-download app. The latest update released smoothes over some User Interface issues, along with some other bug issues. Tril is just a click away on the App Store.
