DISH subscribers can now remotely watch TV on Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX through the DISH Anywhere app. The company on Wednesday announced the app’s arrival, which has previously been available for iOS and in Google Play. The app essentially gives subscribers the ability to watch live TV, DVR recordings and On Demand content on-the-go. In addition, DISH users can also transfer their DVR recordings to the HDX tablet, allowing for offline viewing. Not a bad option for long trips.
“By offering DISH Anywhere to this new group of tablet owners, we continue to show that we are dedicated to the expanding mobile market by allowing our customers to watch everything, anywhere no matter what mobile device they are using,” said Jimshade Chaudhari, Director of Product Management at DISH.
As an alternative in the Android market, Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX is one of the best options from a pure content consumption standpoint, and DISH Anywhere further extends the tablet’s capabilities. The app is available for free Amazon Appstore now.
