The beautiful and addictive game of Dots has now arrived on Android! Armed with a new game mode and a few minor tweaks, can it match the success of its iOS version?
Dots is no game, it’s a way of life. Tip-toe up to the grid and play with caution, or risk getting sucked in – transfixed like us by dots upon dots upon dots. Lines upon lines. Endless combinations for connecting circular colour, finding breakthroughs and capitalising while the dots align.
Excuse our dramatic tone, but we’ve given a lot of time to Dots this year – and now it’s on Android we’ve dived back in. For those uninitiated its a simple concept, make as many combinations as you can within a 60 second time period, looking for small squares that can clear entire colours off the the grid. These are your key to unlocking the game, making the use of the various power-ups to maintain momentum and keep the points stacking up.
Excitingly, the Android version comes with a new mode – ‘Moves’. In this second game you’re given an unlimited amount of time in which to make the longest connections you can. It’s a much slower, more thoughtful take on the frantic Dots format, and it’s perhaps not quite as addictive. But nonetheless, it’s a nice addition to the overall offering.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Now Dots is on Android we’re going to have to be very strict with ourselves – it’s a game so addictive that it could quite easily eat up all of our free time. There are other apps to be played and reviews to be written!
