Another day, another Siri-like speech recognition app arrives on Android. This time it’s the turn of Dragon Go! to try and wow smartphone owners with its understanding of verbal commands.
The brainchild of Nuance, who recently acquired the swish Android keyboard app Swype, Dragon Go! promises to perform internet searches, buy tickets to the cinema and play music through Spotify on your instruction.
Given Nuance already own excellent the Vlingo Virtual Assistant, we imagine Dragon Go! has incorporated some of that app’s library of data for the sake of improved accuracy. The introduction of Dragon Go! could also spell the end of Vlingo, since it’s unlikely Nuance will want to split its attention between two similar voice recognition apps.
