Draw Something, the phenomenally successful social drawing app for Android and iPhone, has been downloaded 30 million times only six weeks after its release.
Based on a mix of Pictionary and Hangman, the app tasks players to draw a picture of a word (sunshine, football, Elvis etc) and then share their artwork so friends can guess what it’s based on.
At present, Draw Something is generating 1 million downloads per day and a “low six figures” in daily (dollar) revenues.
That’s according to an interview with Dan Porter, chief executive of OMGPOP, on GigaOM where it was also revealed over 2 billion drawings have been already been created using the app.
Apparently, Draw Something’s success hasn’t gone unnoticed either with app giants Zynga mulling over a $200 million asking price for developers OMGPOP.
Draw Something is free to download from the Google Play store. If you already own the rising star of the app world, why not check our guide to the Top 5 creative and art apps for Android?
