Gamestick to be Sold Exclusively at GAME Throughout the UK
The UK retailer that gamers like myself are trying to shake is going to be the exclusive retailer of the Android powered Gamestick. Think of the Ouya but, the console is less of a console. For £79.99 you can pre-order the device with one controller and the HDMI stick, another £34.99 will get you a second controller and a charging dock. At £79 I would urge you to just plump up the extra and get the Ouya for £99, or buy a Steambox.
HTC Desire P and Q Now Official for Taiwan
It would appaear that HTC have taken a leaf out of Sony’s book and are realing smartphones with every letter they can lend a hand to. Regardless, the Desire P and the Q offer some decent specs without bursting the wallet. Take a look at the Desire P – which is to cost around NT$10,900 and its specs:
4.3-inch Super LCD2 display
1Ghz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play processor
Adrene 203 GPU
4GB internal storage, expandable via microSD
8MP rear camera
1,620 mAh battery
As for the Desire Q, things don’t seem anywhere near as rosy, take a look at the specs:
4-inch 800 x 480 Display
1 Ghz single-core CPU
512MB of RAM
4GB of storage with microSD cuspport
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and 3G
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at launch.
It’s perhaps a good thing that the Q is only going to cost around NT$6,990 as the low-specs here will really hold back in those parts of Asia, having said that the Desire P and the Q will probably last longer than most other smartphones out there.
Sony Xperia SP, L and Tablet Z Coming to UK in Coming Months
Here’s something else for my fellow UK readers, Sony are releasing some more devices to our small island in the coming months. By the end of April, we should see the Xperia SP and the Xperia L launch in the UK and you can take a look at them over at the Carphone Warehouse. And the Xperia Tablet Z is hitting the UK by the end of May for the princely sum of £399 for the base 16GB Wi-Fi model, £449 for the 32GB Wi-Fi model and £499 for the 16GB LTE version. Ouch.
Huawei Ascend G510 Up for Pre-Order in India
The Ascend G510 is something we saw back at this year’s MWC and now, it’s up for pre-order in India at online retailer Flipkart for RS 10,990. It’s got some decent specs – as you’ll see below – and while it might not turn any heads, it’s definitely a device that will see you through the everyday and then some.
4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display
512MB RAM with4GB internal memory and expandable memory up to 32GB with microSD
1,750 mAh Battery
7-inch Videocon VT75C Tablet with Voice Calling coming to India
Some more good news for our Indian readers, there’s another 7-inch tablet in town, the Videocon VT75C is a special case as it features voice-calling and Android 4.1 out of the box. Let’s look at those specs:
7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display
Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS
1 GHz processor
2MP rear camrea, 0.3 MP (VGA) front-facing camera
3.5mm audio jack
512 RAM, 4 GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 32 GB
2G EDGE (via SIM card Slot), 3G (via external dongle), WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, USB OTG, HDMI port
3000 mAh battery
It’s bittersweet really, as the specs don’t say too much but, the device is up for sale at just RS 5,965 over at Infibeam. That resolution is a far-cry from the basic 1024 x 600 we’ve been seeing on cheap tablets like this. This might be one to miss…
Android 4.1.2 Headed to Indian Galaxy S IIs
The Galaxy S II is a popular device around the world, and India is no exception, even today it holds its own as a quality device at a lower cost. Users in India will be very pleased to hear that the update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is rolling out in their part of the world right now. It might not seem like the big jump to 4.2.2 but, on top of Android 4.0, it brings a lot of new features. Let us know if you’ve gotten the update on your Galaxy S II.

Japanese readers will probably know this already but, the 5-inch version of the Optimus G Pro is now available through NTT-DoCoMo. While South Korea may have gotten the 5.5-inch Optimus G Pro, Japan will be getting the more “compact” version of the Pro, thankfully though, the specs are just as awesome:
