Co-writer Gene Yang presents this exclusive six page sneak peek from the upcoming "Avatar: The Last Airbender The Search Part 3" and talks about what it's been like to work with the creators of the original animated show.
Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the creators of the original Avatar: The
Last Airbender animated series, has been an absolute pleasure. Mike and
Bryan are world-class storytellers, and I've learned so much by getting an
up-close look at their process. The Search answers the one question that
has plagued Airbender fans since the show ended: What happened to Ursa, Zuko's
mom? Years ago, when I was watching the final episode as a fan, I
screamed at the TV when the scene cut before Ozai could give an answer.
Now, I'm part of the creative team that reveals the mystery. Life is a
this scene, Aang chases after an ancient spirit known as the Mother of Faces
who may know what happened to Ursa. The Spirit World is one of my
favorite aspects of the original series, and it's an important part of the
upcoming season of The Legend of Korra. It's only appropriate that the
Spirit World plays an important role in Ursa's disappearance.
