The humble PDF can cause a few issues for the inexperienced Android user. ezPDF Reader promises to make opening and annotating PDF pages a breeze… But does it? With the plethora of PDF readers out there, how does ezPDF justify it’s £1.90 price tag? And so many more questions… Read on…
ezPDF will handle graphics-heavy PDFs with aplomb. It aces the Adobe’s Reader by simple virtue of the fact that it allows you to add notes to PDFs. And not just notes, either. You can scrawl all over your PDF with text, lines, rectangles, circles and even drop in new images to give your recipient a better idea of what you’re after. You can even shoot directly from the app and drop your snap directly onto the page.
Viewing PDFs on the move and then having to articulate changes over the phone is never an ideal situation, and ezPDF removes the need to note down changes separately – tricky enough on a mobile device – by giving you the flexibility to mark up your PDF directly.
Should you wish – and have SpeechSynthesis Data installed on your Android – text to speech will read your PDF back to you, albeit in a horribly synthetic female voice. And should you have audio and video files embedded in your PDF, you can hear/view them exactly as you would if you were sat at your computer.
ezPDF has already saved our bacon on more than one occasion, busy chaps that we are, and we can’t recommend it highly enough.
The Bottom Line
