Life is full of difficult or impossible to answer questions – in Zen Buddhism it might be: “What is the sound of one hand clapping?” in philosophy it might be: “Can God create a rock He cannot lift?” and online it would probably be: “What is the sound of someone ‘Liking’ you?” Well, as LOA doesn’t hire anyone deep enough to have a stab at the first two, we’ll stick with bringing enlightenment to the last: it sounds like Friends Aloud…
A new Android app that provides a mouth for your Facebook, Friend’s Aloud is described by its creators, VoiZapp Inc., as a ‘News Radio’ which, in essence, uses state-of-the-art text-to-speech and speech-to-text technology to broadcast all the news, status updates and random ‘Likes’ from all your friends on the social networking behemoth to you, and vice-versa.
Utilising Android’s built-in automatic speech recognition, you can dictate directly to your page (including the use of punctuation) and set up the app to skip over those ‘friends’ you’re more ‘accidental acquaintance’ with, so that you only get the updates that matter.
Costing a mere £1.27 and available for download from Google Play now, Friends Aloud takes the most popular form of social networking to the next level. Like.
