The capability, now rechristened as Facebook Search, is designed to provide users with personalized search results. For example, youll be able to search for posts that have previously appeared in your news feed. You can also search by using phrases like My friends who live in New York.
Along with arriving on the iOS app, the updates will also be rolled out for the desktop version of the social network.
Im glad to see Facebook finally bring the enhanced search capability to its iOS app. But I do wonder if the social networking giant waited too long for it to really matter.
Just like my colleague Bryan M. White, I thought the feature could be a game changer when it was first announced, but two years of development is an awfully long time – especially in the technology world.
