With RIM working ’round the clock to bring the PlayBook OS 2.o forward it seemed places like the BlackBerry Beta Zone and RIM’s first party applications were a ghost town. Key word being “were”! Now in just a few days time, we have seen some beefy updates to the 4 best mobile apps.
Facebook & Twitter for BlackBerry both received updates to v3.0 in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. Read about the features below. Or head straight over and see how Facebook & Twitter 3.0 bring you more ways to connect here!
New features of Facebook 3.0 include:
° New Facebook Publisher ° Share with BBM Contact ° Improved Facebook Message Notifications ° UI Discoverability Improvements ° User Friendly Error Messages ° And more…
The latest BBM update was actually just a hotfix originally available in the Beta Zone. However some users may still be sitting on an older version of BlackBerry Messenger, maybe the version that came on your BlackBerry or something worse. Either way the most current version is now 188.8.131.52 and it’s loaded with all types of goodies for those not previously on 6.1. Get more info about BlackBerry Messenger here.
And the final Social network application to receive a big update is Foursquare. The latest version of Foursquare for BlackBerry v3.8.0 introduces us to their new Explore features with recommendations that are right for you! As well as Explore filters that help you find places near your location and more!
Other new features include the new ‘View Menu” feature (where supported) that give you a full scope of what you can expect from a specific restaurant, locale etc. Check out the post at Foursquare here.. or
