The WiFi only iPad model is cheaper than its 3G/LTE counterpart and is a good way for users to save money if they don’t really see the need to have cellular data all the time. However in those times when you do, you have no choice but to turn on a hotspot either via your phone or with an external hotspot device.
Not exactly the most convenient or battery efficient, especially if you go for the former option, but here’s an interesting iPad case that could help address those issues. Dubbed the FiiV, this is an iPad case that not only comes with its own hotspot, but it comes with a battery as well that can help charge your iPad or iPhone or any other mobile device.
All you’d have to do is plug your cable into its USB port and charge away! The FiiV case will accept SIM cards from a variety of carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and for those who travel overseas, European networks should work with the case as well. The FiiV case will come in iPad Air and the iPad mini.
For those interested in checking the FiiV case out, it is currently an Indiegogo project seeking funding, so if you’d like to learn more or pledge your support, you can do so by heading on over to its Indiegogo page for the details, or check out the video above.
