The PlayBook’s file explorer system is not accessible within the PlayBook alone. For some reason RIM left this out. Users can either connect to a computer to access files or you can purchase an application such as Files & Folders by Innovatology.
Files & Folders v3.0 isn’t just an app to access your files however. Each update has introduced something unique and wonderful to the BlackBerry PlayBook user experience. Cloud services like Dropbox, Box.net, Google Docs, plus your PlayBook & BlackBerry Bridge files all seamless and accessible using this product!
Major new features:
• Support for Box.net – Works exactly like our other cloud services – copy and paste from anywhere to anywhere: local files, Box.net, Dropbox, Google Docs, into and out of ZIP files…
• Select multiple files and/or folders at once! Just tap the button, then tap the checkboxes. Cut or Copy the selected items for pasting, or use Delete to delete multiple files/folders at once.
I said before and I’ll say again, this is one of the very best products ever built for a BlackBerry device. Jon let us know early the other day of their pending update awaiting approval in BlackBerry App World. I was ecstatic! Knowing this update was to bring Box.net integration, gave me more reason to actually use the cloud service alongside my Dropbox!
If you haven’t purchased Files & Folders yet keep in mind they do offer a 3 day Trial of the full product. After you’ve spent a few days loving it you won’t have too much trouble paying the $2.99 asking price. Heck you can even pay for the product after only using the trial for 1 or 2 days. Why not live dangerously!
So many reasons to check this app out… Powerful File Manager.. File Conversion.. Cut, Copy, Paste.. Thumbnails, Slideshow.. Built in Help (now includes tips across the bottom screen).. Zip files & folders from within the PlayBook.. Experimental feature allows to Email files out! Manage your Google Docs account.. New Multiselect option, New Box.net integration.. Dropbox access.. Bridge Access.. A gorgeous UI! Free Trial, small price-tag and a whole lot more!
Either update your current version, peep the trial or buy it. I’d easily pay $20 for this app. But all you have to pay is $2.99 USD after a 3 day trial.
