Well, there goes the neighborhood. Before the recently-announced Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is even available, the first firmware files for the device already are. The fine folks from SamMobile picked up on the release of the files, which can be found at the Samsung Firmware Archive linked at the bottom of this post.
For most folks, this means absolutely nothing. In fact, if you don’t know what you’re doing with these files, it’s probably best to avoid downloading them. I have no use for them myself, but there are a lot of developers out there who are dying to tinker with these files, so this is more of a PSA for them.
We won’t see the Note 8.0 until Q2 of this year, so this is a nice head start for those looking to begin work on the device. It should also help to build a solid development community, which benefits all of us Everyday Joe’s looking for a new ROM to flash.
