So, the world of Fragger is ‘at risk’. From what, or why, it isn’t clear. But you simply have to do something. That something is shoot grenades at enemies to get rid of them all. And you have to do this across multiple levels on a range of different worlds.
Fragger has a deceptively simple gameplay. You are a character with a grenade. You touch the screen to aim the grenade and decide the force with which it will be ‘lobbed’. Take your finger off the screen and the grenade flies from your fingers – hopefully landing just where you want it to. After a short pause it explodes.
You have a limited number of grenades per level, so they have to be used with care.
Sounds a bit Angry Birds, doesn’t it? Well, the obvious analogy is that Fragger is Angry Birds with grenades, but the graphics are obviously very different, and there are a couple of little treats in that you can view the solution to any level or even skip it completely. These really help with gameplay on the later levels which can get fiendishly tricky.
You don’t have unlimited viewing and skipping privileges, but if you use up what you get for free you can purchase more within the app. The free version is add supported an d you can also pay £1.25 to remove the adds.
THE BOTTOM LINE
This blow ‘em up with grenades game has a storyline so thin as to be almost invisible. But that doesn’t matter. There’s enough variety across the levels to retain attention for quite a while, the gameplay is great, the graphics super. What are you waiting for?
