Today’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch free apps daily include an oceanic adventure, fast paced platformer, expense tracker, and and interactive storybook. A number of apps drop from paid to free on a daily basis*, and we pick the top four everyday, as many of the others aren’t worth your time even for free. Everyday we try to pick apps that are worth spending money on, but are now free to download, and here they are.
*Price drops are temporary, and usually last for just 24 hours, so be quick to download.
Jelly Reef ($0.99 -> Free, Universal): The game lets you guide a jellyfish through an undersea world filled with both intrigue and dangers. What makes the game stand out is that rather than directly controlling the jellyfish, you control the ocean currents. You simply swipe to create ocean currents to move the jellyfish around, and you can either swipe with multiple fingers for speed, or a single finger for slower more precise movements. Jelly Reef is a roguelike thanks to the inclusion of a procedurally generated ocean map.
Wealthy! ($0.99 -> Free, Universal): An expense tracker that presents a timeline view of your transactions first and foremost. The app also makes it easy to input new transactions as you simply enter category, price, and then you’re done. You can also check a financial report, as well as add a photo to any of your entries.
Millie’s Book of Tricks and Treats, Volume 2 ($0.99 -> Free, Universal): The other books starring Millie the dog are excellent kids stories, and this is a special trick or treat version. Follow Millie’s Halloween escapades going door to door looking for tricks or treats. You get to knock on the door, and then watch a video of Millie in action. You can also un-scratch the spider web section to revel Millie in costume. There are stickers to find as well, and it’s one of the most interactive story apps in the App Store, that kids will love.
