It was rumored even before the new handset was launched that Samsung might release the Galaxy Note 5 in a handful of markets initially and may make some countries wait until 2016. The company confirmed this after the Galaxy Note 5 was formally announced, adding that customers in Europe might not see the device until next year. Galaxy Note 5 is gradually being released in more markets with a new report suggesting that India might get the device soon as well but Europe is still out of luck.
It merits mentioning here that Samsung has not yet officially announced that it will soon be bringing Galaxy Note 5 to India, however some evidence has surfaced which suggests that the device may be on its way.
A Galaxy Note 5 test firmware for India has been discovered with a build date of August, work is currently in progress on the software which means that it’s quite likely this device will be coming to India otherwise why would Samsung be working on a firmware for that particular market if the device is not going to be released there for the foreseeable future.
Moreover Samsung India is not outright claiming that this device won’t ever arrive in the country, rather it says that it can’t confirm or deny anything at this point, which is usually a good sign.
As far as Note 5 fans in Europe go there’s not much luck for them, either they can wait until 2016 to get their hands on this device or rely upon grey market sellers which usually sell the device at a premium. They’re between a rock and a hard place.
