Images of a rumored device from Samsung known as the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus have been leaked in popular YouTuber Marques Brownlee's latest video. The device in question features a dual-edge display like the Galaxy S6 Edge, but on a larger body. Find out all we know so far about the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus price, release date, specs and rumors below.
In his video, Brownlee says the device will be like "a super-size version of the original Galaxy S6," but it's probably more accurate to say it's a larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge. It looks like it houses the same curved display, fingerprint scanner and speaker/sensor setup but on a larger frame.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus specs
We'd expect a larger Galaxy S6 Edge to house similar horsepower to that of the original device, with the same RAM, display resolution and camera. It may receive a battery upgrade, though, and Brownlee said that the pictured device has a 5.5-inch display. Check it out below.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus price and release date
The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus price can only be speculated upon. The Galaxy S6 Edge is one of the most expensive smartphones in the world, so if this houses something similar, albeit in a larger frame, expect it to be in the region of 1000 USD off-contract. Other rumors have suggested that the device will have lower specs than the Galaxy S6 Edge, and will be more reasonably priced.
As for the Galaxy S6 Edge release date, Samsung usually unleashes its phablets at its "Samsung Unpacked" events at IFA (as it did last year with the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge); maybe IFA 2015 will be the birthplace of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus this year?
We must stress that this is a rumor from an anonymous source, and we don’t know if this device exists or is in the making. That being said, we are expecting Samsung to drop a dual-sided phablet this year, after experimenting with the Galaxy Note Edge last year and finding “success” with the Galaxy S6 Edge this year. If not the handset above, we'll probably see something similar.
