We’ve been hearing for about a week now, that Samsung has been getting a ton of pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. We heard that Samsung has over 20 million pre-orders and this was as of the end of last week, so there’s likely a higher number here. Samsung Switzerland has stated that pre-orders are about four times higher for the Galaxy S6 than it was for the Galaxy S5. That’s quite a jump, and considering how badly the Galaxy S5 did last year, that’s a great thing for Samsung.
Samsung Switzerland’s Sales Director, Dario Casari, says that the interest from consumers shows Samsung that the innovation and high-quality production of the Galaxy S6 is “ideally suited to the needs and expectations of the Swiss market.” Although it appears to suit more than just the Swiss market, as the Galaxy S6 has been very popular in a number of markets. Dario Casari also stated that Samsung Switzerland has set up a website, next-is-now.ch, where customers can visit and interactively experience Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Switzerland will be part of the April 10th global launch. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be available in white, black and gold at launch, with the green and blue colors coming at a later date. However, we don’t know how much later just yet.
It appears that the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are exactly what Samsung needed to come back from the Galaxy S5. While the Galaxy S5 did sell pretty well, when you compare it to the competition, I think Samsung was expecting a bit more in terms of sales numbers. Which meant reinventing themselves, which I am all for! The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are two great smartphones, and I really can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on them and see how good of a job Samsung did with these two smartphones.
