Samsung is one Android manufacturer who is known for releasing many special editions of its flagship phones like the ironman edition which was gobbled up by tech lovers as soon as it was made available online. Now Samsung is preparing an Olympic version of the popular Galaxy S7 phone to promote its partnership in the Olympic games.
I remember seeing the Olympic edition of the Note 3 though it wasn’t very different from the regular Note 3.
It is not clear if Samsung is working on an S7 or the S7 edge but I am inclined towards the latter. This project has been codenamed as Hero2_Olympic_edition.
Samsung has recently announced that it will allow users to watch the Olympics in virtual reality and for the same purpose, it is building 2 apps with codenames IOC_Olympic_app andRio2016_WOW_Olympic_app.
Samsung is heavily into VR and obviously, the S7 Olympic edition will have lots of VR content along with the Gear VR headset. Samsung has previously offered this headset for free to any customer who pre-ordered the Galaxy S7 or the S7 edge.
And as usual, Samsung will unveil this Olympic edition just before the start of the mega games event which is scheduled between 5-21 august.
This is not the first nor the last variant of the flagship phone from Samsung. It is also rumoured to be working on the Galaxy S7 mini that will counter the iPhone SE and then there is the Galaxy S7 active that will be a rugged version of the S7.
All this information is not confirmed by Samsung and readers have to be caution before believing them.
