Earlier this month, it was revealed that Samsung’s working on a ruggedized variant of the Galaxy S8 — and now we finally know what the handset looks like.
A render submitted to the Wireless Power Consortium on Monday depicts the Galaxy S8 Active as an LG G6 flat version of the Galaxy S8, with a thicker body that’s (presumably) resistant to knocks and bumps and software navigation keys.
While it’s unknown what the device packs under the hood, we’re guessing it’ll sport similar internals to the regular Galaxy S8, so it should ship with an Exynos 8895/Snapdragon 835 processor, a 12MP rear- and an 8MP front-facing shooter.
Recently, the Galaxy S8 Active was spotted in a User Agent String bearing the model number SM-G892A, which SamMobile believes is the AT&T-branded variant of the Galaxy S8 Active.
The Galaxy S8 Active could be announced in June
If this turns out to be the case, there’s a pretty good chance the handset could be announced as soon as next month, as AT&T typically launches the latest Active smartphones in June.
