Game of Phones is our weekly podcast that takes a look at the biggest releases, news and rumors in the world of smartphones.
Transcript: Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of the Mobiledia podcast "Game of Phones," where each week we take a look at the latest devices, news and rumors in the world of smartphones. Let's get started.
And with that it's time for news -- let's start with Verizon. Verizon's new "Share Everything" plans, which gives customers unlimited minutes and allows users on the same plan to all access the same pool of data, are nearly a month old. And the company says reactions have been more than good -- they're great.
It's time for rumors. Nokia might be even more embarrassed than I am right now, as their second quarter earnings report revealed a loss of $1.74 billion and smartphone sales were down 26 percent year-over-year. But signs in the window of the company's flagship store in Finland reveal that on September 7 "something amazing is coming."
That does it for this week's episode of Game of Phones -- let's hit you with a recap. The Motorola Atrix HD makes its way to stores this week for $100 with a two-year contract. Verizon, and now AT&T, wants customers to share everything when it comes to data. And Nokia looks to a big event in September to help reverse its financial fortunes.
Is Windows Phone 8 the answer for the suffering company? We are going to find out. Have a great day, everybody.
