Good news for fans of gaming on the go now as the much talked about Kickstarter campaign launched to raise funding for the great-sounding GameStick closed this week having achieved a whopping – wait for it – 648% of its original aim.
“We are overwhelmed, excited, grateful, thrilled and everything in between,” said Anthony Johnson, the rightfully pleased CMO of PlayJam. “The campaign has been an incredible success with support from thousands of backers worldwide, but this is just the beginning. The feedback from the Kickstarter community has been invaluable in shaping the final product and we will continue to seek input from those that supported us to ensure continued innovation ahead of a global retail launch.”
Set to ship in April 2013, the GameStick is an Android-powered pocket-sized games console that’s designed to hook up directly with your TV via the HDMI to let you browse and download app excellence at your leisure. Then, once you’ve sourced your entertainment it’s a simple matter of sitting back on the sofa and letting the games commence via the bundled Bluetooth controller – brilliant.
So congratulations from the team here at LOA to PlayJam, now get back to work because we want to be reviewing the GameStick as early in April as possible!
