Garmin has unveiled a new fitness app for Android and iPhone users who want to track their daily exercise routines. The Nike+ rival costs only £0.69 ($0.99) to download and automatically syncs with Garmin’s Connect online portal to track your daily run or jog and then share them with equally health-crazy friends.
Garmin Fit is programmed to measure speed, pace, distance, time and calories burned but also has several other nifty features built in, including music playback control and support for answering calls and text messages. When you’ve finished regretting your decision to ever go on an exercise kick, you can also make notes for each workout like, “Never running in the rain again!”
iPhone users of the app are able to purchase an optional ANT+ adapter (£39.99/$49.99) which also records heart rate and cadence, so long as you own a compatible chest strap and spoke chip.
