Gameloft has shown us games at so many consecutive GDCs, and 2015 was no different. This year we got to preview one new game, and one big update to an existing game. First off, there’s Dungeon Hunter 5, which follows as a true sequel to the fourth installment to deliver a full apocalyptic world to battle in. You get to play as a bounty hunter in Gameloft’s latest hack and slash, and number five is set in a bleak world filled with raiders, demons, beasts, and even the undead. This game isn’t about saving the world, as there’s nothing left to save, and instead just focuses on rising above the evil that has filled the land.
Dungeon Hunter 5 also includes new weapon types, highlighted by our personal favorite, the dual crossbows. It’s also easier to activate combos, and of course the graphics engine has been taken up a notch. There will be a full single player campaign as well as online dungeons, and weekly challenges. Dungeon Hunter 5 is set to launch on March 12th, and it will be free to play.
Spider-Man Unlimited has proven popular, and Gameloft continues to update it. They showed us the next update, which is classified as Issue 5, and will launch around the end of this month. The update introduces Doc Ock as the next member of the Sinister Six, and the latest boss to take out. Doc Ock includes his own new environment in the form of an underwater lab, and Doc Ock himself is the first running boss. In our play time, it was easily noticeable how the new Doc Ock portion is a lot more chaotic and challenging. You do have to play through all of the previous included content to reach Issue 5. The update also includes the highly requested Superior Venom to run as to round out a valuable upcoming update.
Gameloft continues to work on deluxe games, and they showed us one more item, which is under embargo until the 18th, but it will be sure to make waves then.
