Xiaomi continues to be a company who brings to market a number of new smartphones each year and typically speaking, successors to tried and tested models like their Xiaomi Mi and the Xiaomi Redmi lines. Speaking of which, after a fair bit of speculation, this month saw Xiaomi formally announce and introduce their latest Redmi handset, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
In terms of the specs, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes loaded with a 5.5-inch display which makes use of a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Inside, there are a couple of variants of the Redmi Note 4 on offer with the main differences between the two centering on RAM and storage. On offer is a 2GB RAM model which comes with 16GB internal storage and a 3GB RAM model which comes packing 64GB internal storage. Both options do come powered by the same 64-bit MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor (clocking at 2.1 GHz). Likewise, both models come equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera, as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Both models also come loaded with a 4,100 mAh battery and come running on Xiaomi’s own MIUI 8 out of the box. Additional features on offer with both variants include a fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM support and 4G LTE support. In terms of network compatibility, both models are listed to work with 2G: GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz, 3G: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz and 4G: FDD-LTE 850/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz.
As is the case with Xiaomi products in general, the Redmi Note 4 is designed to be an affordable smartphone and has just entered its pre-order status. For those interested in picking one up, GearBest is currently accepting pre-orders on both models. The 2GB RAM and 16GB storage model is currently available to pre-order in either a gold, grey or white colored variant and is priced at only $256.60, while the 3GB RAM and 64GB model is only currently available to pre-order in gold and is priced at $318.07.
