BARCELONA, Spain – Gionee introduced the world’s slimmest smartphone, the Gionee ELIFE S5.5, measuring 5.5mm in width.
However, that thickness does not come with a cut on features. In fact, for a smartphone with such measurements, it holds quite an impressive spec sheet.
Beginning with primary characteristics, the Gionee ELIFE S5.5 runs on a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor under a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED touchscreen. To keep it powered for most part of the day, it homes a 2300mAh battery which is intended to increase up to 2450mAh with the next upgrade. There are two cameras on the device, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP camera on front with a 95-degree ultra-wide-angle lens.
Together with the ELIFE S5.5, Gionee also unveiled a mid-level smartphone, the Gionee CTRL V5 LTE. The specifications comprise of a 4.7-inch qHD screen, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 1.3GHz quad-core chipset, 8MP back camera, 2MP front camera and 1GB RAM all within 8mm thick body. The phone also supports dual-SIM capability.
The pricing and availability of the Gionee ELIFE S5.5 hasn’t been announced.
