After spending a little over a week with Gist on my Berry, I’ve come to not only love the oodles of information packed into the 928 contacts the supreme social phone book has found in my unlimited life, but the GUI is peerless. Gist offers not only the BlackBerry meal, there’s also Gist on the web, inside your Gmail, Inside Outlook, Chrome & Firefox extensions, as well as iPhone and Android versions available.
What I really am loving since I began utilizing this product is the feeds. Each contact has 3 categories: Profile, Updates & Notes plus the 4 BlackBerry connection icons: Text, Email, BBM, & Phone. Inside profile is all the various connections you have with the user. Updates gives you the raw feed. A timeline of events your contact is pushing out! From Twitter & Facebook updates to LinkedIn & Blog posts from their RSS! You have it all right here. Click on a tweet and go right into Twitter, or Facebook. Open an RSS/Blog post, read it, link to products, get more news or re-share it on Facebook, Twitter, through email or to one of your BBM contacts. Umbrella throughout your social networks!
There’s quite a lot to submerge into with Gist. I’ve begun connecting through the web version, Google Chrome, and tweaking my dashboard. And I’ve learned a lot more about how everything comes together as well as different ways to optimize my preferences. As time goes by, between updates and hands-on I’m sure I’ll have even more to say about how useful this FREE product from BlackBerry App World truly is. For now I urge you to give it a spin and be sure to feed us back with your findings.
