Google’s Chromecast streaming stick has been very popular since launch, no doubt in part to its cheap price and easy way to stream content to your television. A while back, Google introduced the ability to Cast what was being displayed on your phone/tablet straight to the TV. This mirror functionality remains in beta and therefore only a limited number of devices are supported.
Sony’s products weren’t on that list until now. Google’s support pages now reveal that it now officially supports Sony’s newest flagship devices: the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact. To do so you will need to open the Chromecast App and select “Cast Screen” from the navigation drawer. Simply select your Chromecast to start casting. It is great to see Sony’s new devices being supported so quickly. We would expect support to widen over time.
