Google today released the first major update to its Google Fiber app for Android and iOS. You can download the new version now directly from Google Play and Apple’s App Store.
First and foremost, the new Fiber app now makes it easier to manage your DVR (the Google Fiber Storage Box can hold up to 500 hours of HD content): you can find, organize, watch, and mass-delete all of your content right from your tablet or phone. There’s also a new channel history “shortcut” feature in the navigation menu that lets you quickly reach all of your favorites.
To see your existing recordings, just open the navigation menu and tap DVR. To quickly setup new DVR recordings, tap the search icon at the top and type or say the show title out loud.
Last but not least, the iOS app now has gained support for the iPhone and iPod touch. Previously, it only worked on Apple’s iPads.
Here’s the official changelog for Android:
New remote control behavior and Now Playing screen.
